The maximum distance possible is 3m, although this is not recommended.

The ideal position of Somnofy is 40 cm/16 inches to 1.5 m / 60 inches from your bed! We recommend mounting it within 1 m/3 ft for the best results. Somnofy measures a maximum of 3m/9ft distance, but at this distance, the data quality is often poorer.
