      Mounting Somnofy on wall

      This article shows how to mount Somnofy on the wall using the wall mount

      Mounting on wall

      • Mount the wall bracket near the bed so that Somnofy can point towards the chest of the service recipient in bed. The height should be from 40–80 cm above the edge of the bed. The distance should not be more than 0.5–1.5 meters.
      • There must be a clear line of sight between the Somnofy unit and the service recipient.
      • The Somnofy device should not be mounted on a wall where another person can lie and sleep on the other side of the wall.
      • The measurements can be affected if there are things that move in the measuring area of the Somnofy unit.
      • Make sure you have safe access to electricity and that the cable is not in the way of the floor. It may be a good idea to use cable rails to ensure that the cable lies still and that it looks nice.
        Measure the maximum distance from the Somnofy device to the chest of the person to be measured and set this distance in the device settings.

      Velcro is placed on the wall

        • If necessary, clean the area with alcohol beforehand
        • Press the Velcro firmly against the wall for 10 seconds so that it attaches securely

        • The Velcro can be a bit hard, so it is important to press the plate hard against the Velcro on the wall

        • Turn the wall bracket so that it is in a locked position

      Place the Somnofy device itself on the adapter

      Connect the cord to the Somnofy unit

        • Make sure it clicks into place
        • It should not be connected to electricity until the very end

      Mount cable rail for the wire

        • Cable rails make it look nice and ensure that no one pulls out the cable
        • It may be a good idea to use a spirit level/laser when installing cable rails

      Adjusting the correct angle

        • Adjust the angle by turning the Somnofy device so that it points toward the chest of the person to be measured.

      Maximal distance

      The Somnofy device needs to know the maximum distance it will measure. One should therefore use a measuring tape to measure the distance between the Somnofy unit and the chest of the person to be measured. One must also add a safety margin of approx. 30 cm so that one covers all movements. The maximum distance must be set in the device settings.

      Starting up the Somnofy device

      The only thing that remains now is for the Somnofy device to be connected to electricity. When the power is switched on, Somnofy maps the room. Therefore, one should leave the room for two minutes while this is going on. After two minutes, Somnofy is ready to connect to a subject. See how to create a subject here.
